Where is the preschool located?
Love to Learn preschool is located in San Luis Obispo, just off of the 101 freeway at the Grand Avenue / Cal Poly exit.
WHAT AGES DO YOU ENROLL?
We enroll children ages 2–5. We’d love for your family to join our school! Learn more about enrolling in our preschool or complete an enrollment application.
Can I Tour the PreSCHOOL?
Yes! We provide school tours in the Spring for prospective families! Individual tours can also be scheduled depending on availability. First, please complete an enrollment application and we will connect with you about tour options. We can’t wait to meet your family!
WHAT ARE YOUR Preschool HOURS?
Love to Learn preschool is open Monday through Friday from:
7:30am–5:30pm (preschool/pre-k, ages 3-5)
7:30am - 5:00 (daycare, age 2)
You are able to pick up at any time throughout the day!
IS LOVE TO LEARN OPEN YEAR ROUND?
Yes we are! But we do observe various Federal holidays and are closed for Spring, Summer and Winter breaks. More detailed information can be found on our Schedule page.
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY AT YOUR SCHOOL DAY LOOK LIKE?
We begin our busy day with play, circle time, and music :) The rest of our day is filled with hands-on curriculum, building friendships, play, and developing skills to become independent and collaborative learners! More detailed information can be found on our Schedule page.
DOES Love to Learn PROVIDE MEALS?
No. Parents are responsible for providing a daily lunch for their child. And our AM and PM snack times consist primarily of parents’ monthly healthy snack contributions (1 carb + 1 fruit or veggie).
HOW DO you facilitate PARENT-TEACHER COMMUNICATION?
We use a software platform called Brightwheel for most parent-teacher communication. The easy-to-use phone app allows parents and teachers the ability to message each other throughout the day through. Teachers post weekly photos, monthly newsletters, and school updates as well. Once your child is enrolled, we will help you set up your Brightwheel account.

What’s the difference between a DayCare, Child Care Facility, Nursery School and Preschool? ANd what is love to learn?
Love to Learn is all of the above! The term “daycare” tends to emphasize smaller, unstructured programs for younger children (infants through 2- or 3-year-olds). “Preschool” programs tend to be a bit more structured and academic-focused, which is perfect for pre-k children (ages 3–5). I “Nursery schools” sit right between daycares and preschools. Maybe it’s just a San Luis Obispo thing, but we don’t hear the term “nursery school” thrown around very often. When it comes to “child care” or “child care facility”, that’s a broad, all-encompassing term, typically used by state entities to refer to licensed programs that care for children.
